Is it a pressurized or non pressurized aircraft- turboprop aircraft or a jet aircraft?
How experienced is the crew?
How many hours of total flying and how many on this aircraft?
Any experience in special operations like mountain landings, long haul over water flights bad weathers etc?
Any policy about crew duty time and flight time?
How many doctors or paramedics will be accompanying the patient/s.
Are they trained and experienced to do planned or critical transportation.
Is the air ambulance company audited by a third party organization?
Has all the permissions required for international medical evacuation taken care of?
All safety and security measures taken care for international flights including necessary medical equipments, emergency medications and oxygen.
Will the air ambulance company take care of visa immigration and custom formalities?
Is the air ambulance company headed by a qualified and experienced Medical Director.
Has the doctor/paramedic team briefed by the medical director about the patient clinical condition and planned out course of action in case of a dire medical emergency.
Can they provide positive references from past patients, relatives hospitals or insurance companies.
In case of queries or complaints – is there a 24 hours call center or assigned person with whom to communicate about the medical transport.
How soon can the air ambulance flight take off in case of an emergency call.
How many relatives can accompany the patient during the transfer.
Are they providing bedside to bedside transfer of the patient including ground ambulance.
Do the quote include an all inclusive cost and does your insurance company provide the cover for the air ambulance.
What is the status of the aviation insurance- the coverage, the company and if required a copy of the same.
Is there an indemnity insurance coverage for the air ambulance personnel.
In case of technical snags or bad weather conditions, what alternative arrangement does the charter operator have for your flight?
